Privacy Policy

This is an early, plain-language version of our Privacy Policy, written to accurately describe what StatRink collects in its registered preview. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and should receive formal Canadian privacy review before a broad public launch.

What we collect today

StatRink is currently a landing page with a waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address (required)
• Your first name, if you choose to give it (optional)
• Whether you’re a parent, player, coach, team manager, league/association, fan, or other
• An association, league, or team you’d like covered, if you tell us (optional)
• Your province
• The fact and version of your consent to receive launch updates

If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication provides an account identifier, email address, and basic profile information needed to maintain your account and private My Rink subscriptions. If you create an email and password account, Firebase Authentication stores the email and securely manages the password credential. StatRink does not store a readable copy of your password.

During account creation, you may separately choose to receive occasional StatRink product, feature, and coverage updates. This newsletter choice is optional and stored with your account. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter email or contact us to remove the preference.

We do not collect birth dates, home addresses, schools, phone numbers, medical details, or precise location data. We do not store your IP address or device fingerprint when you submit the waitlist form.

How we use it

Solely to send you updates about StatRink’s launch and to understand which hockey communities people want covered first. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Analytics

We track a small number of anonymous, non-personal events (like “landing page viewed” or “waitlist submission succeeded”) to understand how the site is used. These events never include your email, name, or anything else you typed into the form. No analytics provider is connected yet as of this version of the site.

Protecting young players

StatRink’s long-term product will include statistics about minor hockey players. We will never use player photos, facial recognition, scouting grades, behavioural rankings, or AI-generated assessments of children. We display only hockey statistics published by authorized league and association sources, never invented. Player names and player-level analytics are available only after account registration during the preview period.

My Rink and advertising

My Rink stores the teams and players you choose to follow under your signed-in account. StatRink also stores your saved dashboard views, default division, and notification preferences. If you enable browser push, Firebase stores a device notification token under your account so StatRink can deliver the updates you chose. Disabling push removes the registered tokens for your account.

StatRink contains reserved advertising placements and Google AdSense verification code. If personalized or cookie-based advertising is enabled later, this policy and the site’s consent controls must be updated before activation.

Data correction and removal

You can ask us to correct or remove your waitlist information at any time via our Data Correction or Removal Request page, or by emailing hello@statrink.com.

Retention

We keep waitlist entries until launch communications are complete or you ask us to remove your information, whichever comes first. A formal retention schedule will be published before general launch.
