Privacy Policy

This is an early, plain-language version of our Privacy Policy, written to accurately describe what StatRink collects right now, at the waitlist stage. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer; it will be updated, and formally reviewed, before we handle any player or team data.

What we collect today

StatRink is currently a landing page with a waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address (required)
• Your first name, if you choose to give it (optional)
• Whether you’re a parent, player, coach, team manager, league/association, fan, or other
• An association, league, or team you’d like covered, if you tell us (optional)
• Your province
• The fact and version of your consent to receive launch updates

We do not collect birth dates, home addresses, schools, phone numbers, medical details, or precise location data. We do not store your IP address or device fingerprint when you submit the waitlist form.

How we use it

Solely to send you updates about StatRink’s launch and to understand which hockey communities people want covered first. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Analytics

We track a small number of anonymous, non-personal events (like “landing page viewed” or “waitlist submission succeeded”) to understand how the site is used. These events never include your email, name, or anything else you typed into the form. No analytics provider is connected yet as of this version of the site.

Protecting young players

StatRink’s long-term product will include statistics about minor hockey players. We will never use player photos, facial recognition, scouting grades, behavioural rankings, or AI-generated assessments of children. We will only collect and publish what’s necessary for hockey statistics, sourced from officially published league and association data, never invented. This policy will be expanded, and formally reviewed under Canadian privacy law, before any player data is published.

Data correction and removal

You can ask us to correct or remove your waitlist information at any time via our Data Correction or Removal Request page, or by emailing hello@statrink.com.

Retention

We keep waitlist entries until launch communications are complete or you ask us to remove your information, whichever comes first. A formal retention schedule will be published before general launch.
